Nissan Puts A Supercar’s Engine In the Juke Crossover

Nissan built and showed off a concept car just like they have done hundreds of times before. Most concept cars are either changed drastically before released to the public, or scrapped due to lack of interest. However, when Nissan decided to put the engine of a GT-R inside a Juke Crossover and showed it off at the Dubai Auto Show, interest soared.

The result of the concept was the Juke-R. A crossover with 545 horsepower capable of taking on other supercars such as Ferrari and Porsche. Nissan has said that the Juke-R will be available to anyone but they are only building the cars that are ordered. So you won’t find this powerful crossover sitting in a car lot.

Nissan released a short movie called Desert Nemesis where the Juke-R shows off its power in a race against other supercars. Check it out below.

2012 Nissan Juke: Sports Car And SUV All In One

With positive reviews mounting, the 2012 Nissan Juke continues to surprise drivers with its unique blend a sports car and an SUV.

The 2012 Nissan Juke hit the market over a month ago and so far the reviews have been positive. The Juke is a truly unique looking vehicle and most certainly not made from the same cookie cutter that most SUV’s are. You have your choice of Front-Wheel Drive or Torque vectoring All-Wheel Drive, which is rare for a crossover priced under $20,000. The Juke also has an estimated EPA value of 25/30 MPG.

Still not convinced? Here are some reviews of the Juke…

“Nissan’s five-seat Juke small crossover is about 20 inches shorter than the Rogue, the previous smallest crossover in the automaker’s lineup, but it packs a more powerful engine and a sophisticated available all-wheel-drive system that together give the Juke a decidedly sporty bearing.” – Cars.com

“It’s funky and powerful, with an attractive base price.” - Edmunds

“It blends the ride height and looks of a crossover with the soul and sensibility of a hot little hatchback, making for a truly fun-to-drive machine.” – MSN

Nissan Teases All-New 2013 Sentra

Nissan debuted the all-new 2013 Nissan Sentra earlier this week at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show and provided the world with a very brief teaser video of the new compact sedan.

Although announced in China as the Nissan Sylphy, there is a lot of buzz that this Sylphy Chinese model will actually become the base model for the U.S. Nissan Sentra. The teaser video gives us a little more reason to believe this as well, by quickly showing the “Sentra” without the Sylphy name plate, as seen at the Beijing Auto Show. So, we can only guess what Nissan is trying to hint to us.

Check out the Nissan Sentra teaser video for yourself, and let us know what your thoughts and opinions are on the (hopefully) new 2013 model.

Nissan GT-R Takes on the Porsche 911 – Who are you taking?

The Nissan GT-R and the Porsche 911 are supercar rivals, you could even say they are each other’s nemesis. The two cars are constantly pitted against each other to race. A constant rivalry between the two has forced the automakers to try to outpace the other each year.

In the following video, Evo magazine editor Tiff Needell has the lucky job of taking the 2012 Nissan GT-R and 2012 Porsche 911 out onto the Bedford Autodrome.

The Bedford Autodrome is the perfect setting to show off these beats and see who can overcome the twists and turns and reach the finish line faster.

Viewers Get the Chance to See Nissan’s DeltaWing Development from Start to Finish

Now is the chance for Nissan fans to see a racing vehicle go from start to finish. Nissan is releasing a brand new film series that puts viewers in the design and development phases of Nissan’s new racing vehicle, the DeltaWing.

The new film series will have a new episode around every two weeks leading up to the Le Mans in June. A complete TV documentary will follow the Le Mans race. A film crew has followed DeltaWing designer Ben Bowlby and his team as the racing machine was built including the engine being developed.

Ben Bowlby said, “We’ve had the Nissan film crew following our every move throughout the development of the car over the past few months and this will give the fans a great insight into the creation of the Nissan DeltaWing. It was a bit strange at first to have a camera poked under our nose all the time but, after a while, the guys really felt like part of the team.

The daunting wind tunnel test is upon the team in the first episode, essentially a make-or-break test for the DeltaWing’s success chances. Enjoy!

Nissan Earns Fourth IIHS Top Safety Pick Award with 2012 Nissan Versa Rating

Nissan’s most affordable new car, the 2012 Versa sedan, added the IIHS Top Safety Pick rating to its name recently.  The 2012 IIHS Top Safety Pick is the Versa sedan’s first-ever.  The Versa was completely redesigned for 2012 to offer a subcompact with maximum space, features, and safety for drivers on a low budget.

The IIHS Top Safety Pick rating was given to the Versa sedan for earning the highest rating of “Good” on all four tests performed by the IIHS.  The four tests include front, side, rear and rollover crash test.  The new roof strength test was added to testing for 2012 to see measure how vehicles performed in the incident of a rollover crash.  The higher requirements have made the IIHS rating even more valuable to a model.

The major award is a great addition to the Versa name which has the lowest MSRP in America.  Nissan engineers overhauled the 2012 Versa sedan to optimize space and features with the lowest bottom line for customers.  The vehicle is a great affordable option for drivers looking for the ultimate value in a car.

Nissan is now proud to have the Cube, JUKE, LEAF, and Versa Sedan as 2012 IIHS Top Safety Pick rating recipients.

Nissan Working on Technology for an Accident-Free Driving World

If there were no vehicle accidents on the roads, people would have a lot less stress and would enjoy driving a lot more.  Even though technology isn’t there yet, Nissan is working hard to get towards that accident-free world.

For the past twenty five years, Nissan has analyzed and worked at developing technology and vehicles that would withstand crashes better.  The passive approach focused on better material selection, vehicle design, and use of airbags to mitigate damage in crashes.

Now Nissan is looking towards preventative technology to help avoid collisions all together.  With the Nissan Safety Shield, Nissan has taken major steps in creating new technology to assist drivers in avoiding accidents.

Nissan’s Bob Yakushi sits down and explains the future of Nissan’s vehicles and what technology is being worked on to get towards an accident-free world.
